Summer is here with lots of celebrations for this month of June!
First of all, Father's Day is a good time to celebrate the commitment and dedication of these many heroes who love, protect and provide for their families on a daily basis. Our dads, these valiant men, sometimes clumsy but pillars for our children, are to be honored as it should be. That is why we invite you all to join our voices to say a huge THANK YOU!
Happy Father's Day to all dads and all those who play this role. We are also celebrating 16 June, the World Day of the African Child. By this fact, the CICA wishes to recall that children are the future of humanity but that above every human being is a child. To every child of Afro-descendant origin, we want to tell you that we believe in you and that you are stars who nothing and no one can prevent from shining.

CICA pays tribute and highlights the work of all volunteers around the world. Without your dedication, your passion, your precious time, our communities will not be what they are.

Courageous, combative, visionary, inspiring, resilient, the adjectives would be lacking to describe these changeers of destinies.

Here we are in February, synonymous with celebrations of black people in several countries. As Sovi mentions in his Afro person article in this issue, the contribution of racial minorities, particularly blacks, to the development of Canada, remains to be studied. Even today, many in our country are unaware that Africans, in the person of the interpreter and explorer Mathieu Da Costa, arrived in Canada before the English and that the Latter took an active part in the construction and development of Canada.
