Teaching my children their origins, and making them proud of their identity, is a priority for me.
Born in France and Canada, they learn over the workshops a little more about their history, develop their knowledge of the history of the African people in general and I admit that I learn with them … my culture of Africa can be limited in certain areas to my country of origin!
Beyond the story, the assertiveness workshops, the games, the festive atmosphere with songs, dances and of course taste it with an African touch take me back to my childhood and give me the opportunity to exchange beautiful memories with my children.
Initiatives such as those of the CICA should be encouraged.
